Nearshore software development company, Godel Technologies has made a generous donation to East Manchester Youth Zone which will go directly towards supporting Manchester’s young people to lead healthier, happier, more aspirational lives.
Godel Technologies was inspired to become a Founder Patron of the brand-new charity, after discovering how East Manchester Youth Zone will support young people by providing them with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
With its headquarters in Manchester, Godel has pledged to support the Youth Zone for the next four years which will enable it to support thousands of young Mancunians to develop the skills they need to overcome life’s challenges and develop the confidence and resilience they need to succeed.
Members will have access to an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, dance and drama studio, music room with a recording studio, training kitchen, arts and crafts studio, fully equipped gym and so much more, all for just 50p per visit.
Set to open in spring 2020, the Youth Zone will also deliver enterprise and employability workshops which will help get young people into education, employment or training.
East Manchester Youth Zone is being delivered in partnership with OnSide Youth Zones and Manchester City Council and is supported by a number of local businesses united in their support of young people and their determination to see Manchester flourish.
The OnSide Youth Zones network currently supports over 40,000 young people across 10 Youth Zone sites in Bolton, Carlisle, Blackburn, Oldham, Wigan, Manchester (Harpurhey), Wolverhampton, Wirral, Warrington and Chorley, with a further three currently under construction in London.
Neil McMurdo, Managing Director, Godel said: “Having had a tour of the Wigan Youth Zone I feel truly privileged to be a part of making youngsters lives better in East Manchester – it made me reminisce about my own youth and think about the challenges of our modern day.
“Having a place to go and fantastic people to speak to means the world to society – it’s real life and it’s making a huge difference
“We are proud to become a Founder Patron of East Manchester Youth Zone and I will look forward to seeing more confident, equipped and happier young people for generations to come.
