Each month, we will be providing you with the opportunity to get to know our Patrons a little better.
Patrons are a group of individuals and companies united by a determination to give young people in Manchester somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Patrons form part of an exclusive group who share the vision to transform the lives of thousands of young people in Manchester.
This month, we want to introduce you to Houlihan Lokey.

What is Houlihan Lokey?
Houlihan Lokey, Inc. (NYSE:HLI) is a global investment bank serving corporations, institutions, and governments worldwide with 36 offices in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the AsiaPacific region – including Manchester!
They strive to be leaders in their communities through their actions, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within their firm, social justice for all, and a wide range of charitable and other community-building activities.
Through their Give-A-Day to Charity programme, they have created community collaboration and partnership. They invite every employee to volunteer up to two working days each year with local charities that are important to them, and they further support their efforts through a financial contribution from the firm on their behalf. Employees are encouraged to combine their personal efforts by organising team volunteering events for charities of their choice.
How do they support HideOut Youth Zone?
Houlihan Lokey are a passionate and dedicated patron – their team in Manchester have been supporting HideOut since the very beginning, actively taking part in events and activities throughout the year. Last year they fundraised an extra £17,000 through events and volunteering.
They volunteer their time over our Holiday Clubs, run an annual darts fundraiser, take part in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run, and get involved in our events such as The Manchester Ball and the Patrons Dinner.
Last Christmas, the whole Manchester office provided Christmas gifts for our Christmas Meals, ensuring that 240 of HideOut members received a gift alongside their Christmas dinner. We are thrilled that Houlihan Lokey renewed their patronage to EMPOWER Youth Zones this month. We are excited about the next chapter of our partnership and working together to improve the lives of thousands of children and young people in Manchester.
Phil Adams, Co-Head of Houlihan Lokey’s European Corporate Finance business, said:
“It is huge privilege to partner with HideOut. Our team loves being involved – we had a great day volunteering with the Holiday Club – my hamstrings are still sore after the very competitive game of football we had while we were there!! We look forward to continuing to support EMPOWER with the inspiring work the team does to build a better future for so many children and young people.”
